DESCRIPTION

Cargo trailer

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION 5

The purpose of this application is to register a cargo trailer.

More specifically, the invention proposes the development of a cargo trailer to be transported by a tractor vehicle that allows to increase its payload area in an easy and simple way for a user, by a single action.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

There is currently a wide variety of trailers coupled to a tractor vehicle, such as a motor vehicle, which are used for the transport of bulky items, for example, motorcycles or other smaller vehicles. The problem that trailers formed from a single frame with an upper surface of bulky load can be known, since when they are not used they occupy a large volume. twenty

In order to solve the above problem, trailers have been developed that include additional structures, such as, for example, are described in patents ES 2585602, US 2005184485 and US 5924836. However, known trailers although they satisfactorily fulfill the function of increasing load , how to carry out the enlargement of the loading surface 25 can be cumbersome and require a longer assembly time for the user. In addition, another inconvenience detected is the fact of having to place an additional lighting system or signals in the trailer extension, which also implies a greater complexity of assembly for the user.
 30
The applicant is not currently aware of an invention that has all the features described herein.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
 35
The present invention has been developed in order to provide a cargo trailer that is configured as a novelty within the scope and resolves the
drawbacks mentioned above, also providing other additional advantages that will be apparent from the description that follows.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a cargo trailer, of the type comprising a main frame with a hitch lance, at least a pair of 5 displacement wheels linked to the main frame, the main frame presenting a surface of load. In particular, the invention is characterized by the fact that it includes an extensible section with an additional loading surface linked to an additional movable frame with respect to the main frame, the extensible section being provided to extend the loading surface, such that in a functional position of the trailer, the load surface of the frame is aligned with the additional surface, while in a second functional position, both two load surfaces are superimposed on each other, the extensible section being pivotally articulated in the additional frame by means of rotation, in such a way that the rotational movement of the extensible section is transformed into a linear movement of forward or reverse of the additional frame with respect to the main frame, which allows reducing the manual effort to be performed by a user.

Thanks to these characteristics, a cargo trailer is obtained that allows to increase its payload surface according to the user's needs in a very simple way without the need to assemble or disassemble any component, since the user simply has to perform an action of rotating the extensible section to also deploy the frame located in its lower part, performing said action only by a hand of the user without applying a great effort. The fact that it is simple and easy reduces the assembly and / or disassembly time of the extension of the payload surface. 25

Another advantage, not less important, is the fact that in the case of mandatory use of lighting and indication lights on the trailer, it is not necessary to have two sets of lights or disassemble them in the case of extending the dimensions of the trailer since they can be placed only on the additional frame, so that in any of the two 30 positions of the stretch, the rear part of the trailer corresponds to the rear end of the additional frame.

According to another aspect of the invention, guidance means are provided for linear displacement between the main frame and the additional frame. 35

In a preferable embodiment, the aforementioned guidance means may comprise at least one guide-slide system, such that a slide coupled to the additional frame is movable along a guide profile located in the main frame.
 5
Preferably, the guiding means comprise two sliding-guide systems each arranged on two sides opposite each other.

According to another aspect of the invention, the turning means have at least one bar that is at one end coupled in the extensible section while the opposite end of said bar is coupled in a cross member that is part of the additional frame.

Additionally, the cargo trailer can comprise damping means arranged between the main frame and the extendable section, such as, for example, a pair of gas springs with hydraulic shock absorber located on two sides, so that it allows a smoother movement and with less effort during the extension or withdrawal of the extensible section, which facilitates the manipulation of the turning system to the user.

Advantageously, the trailer may include indication lights mounted on the rear of the additional frame, which allows it to comply with the traffic code. twenty

According to another feature of the invention, the rear end of the main frame has support surfaces that are arranged perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal axis of the main frame, so that it allows the trailer assembly to be placed (in a condition retracted from the extensible section) in an upright position, which advantageously reduces the volume or space thereof when it is not being used.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the support surfaces are arranged on each side of the main frame.
 30
Advantageously, the additional frame includes gripping means configured for manual manipulation of the additional frame, such as, for example, a pair of handles located on both sides of the extensible section.

Other features and advantages of the cargo trailer object of the present invention will be apparent from the description of a preferred embodiment, but not
exclusive, which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which:

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
 twenty
In view of the aforementioned figures and, according to the numbering adopted, an example of a preferred embodiment of the invention can be observed therein, which comprises the parts and elements indicated and described in detail below.

As shown in Figures 1 to 3, in the present embodiment of the cargo trailer 25 comprises a main frame (1) provided at its front end with a hitch lance (2) protruding from the main frame (1), a pair of travel wheels (3) (although their number may be greater than two) linked to the main frame by means of a wheel axle (4) supported on the bottom of the main frame (1) (see figure 2) . The main frame (1) comprises a plurality of metal profiles and crossbars 30 on which a loading surface formed by a metal plate (5) is arranged.

In this specification, the front end is understood as the end facing a traction vehicle for transporting the trailer while the rear end corresponds to the opposite end.
The cargo trailer includes an extensible section (6) with an additional load surface, which is linked to an additional frame (7) that can be moved with respect to the main frame (1), the extensible section being provided to extend the surface of loading, such that in a functional position of the trailer, the loading surface of the main frame (1) may be aligned with the additional surface, while in a second functional position, both two loading surfaces are superimposed on each other, the Extensible section articulated in a pivoting manner in the additional frame (7) by means of rotation which will be explained later. In this way, the rotational movement of the extendable section (6) is simultaneously transformed into a linear forward or reverse movement of the additional frame (7) associated with the extendable section 10 (6) with respect to the main frame (1).

To ensure proper operation during the deployment or retracting operation of the stretch section (6) and the additional frame (7), guiding means are provided for linear displacement between the main frame (1) and the additional frame (7) . These 15 guiding means comprise a pair of guide-slide systems separated from each other and located on two sides of the trailer, such that a slide coupled to the additional frame can move along a guide profile located in the main frame ( one).
 twenty
Entering in greater detail, the slide of the guide-slide system is comprised of a plurality of assemblies, generally indicated by the reference (8), arranged in an aligned manner, each being constituted by an axis (9) with a threaded section that is coupled to the additional frame (7) with the help of a pair of nuts (10) that secure the fixing of the shaft (9). In addition, the axle (9) provided at one end of a pair of 25 wheels or rolling elements (11) supported on a support element (12) fixed to the axle (9), said wheels (11) being configured to slide to along a rolling surface provided inside a horizontal plane of the guide profile (13) as it pivots the extensible section with respect to the main frame (1).
 30
With particular reference now to the turning means for angularly moving the extensible section (6), they have a pair of bars (14) located on two sides of the main frame (1), each of the bars (14) being coupled in a way articulated by one end to a pivot point (141) located on the extensible section while at the opposite end of said bar (14) is coupled at a second pivot point (142) 35 located on a crossbar (15) that is part of the additional frame (7).
To facilitate and smooth the pivoting movement of the stretch section (6) while being manipulated for deployment or folding, a pair of gas springs with conventional hydraulic damper (16) is provided, one of the ends of the gas spring (16) being ) fixed at a pivot point (161) of the main frame (1) and the other end fixed at a pivot point (162) of the extensible section (6), as shown more clearly in Figure 5.

The trailer also includes lighting lights and direction change indication (17), which are mounted on the rear of the additional frame (7), so they can be used in any of the functional positions in which it is located. the extensible section (6).

The rear end of the main frame (1) has a pair of flat support surfaces that are arranged perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal axis of the main frame, which allows the trailer to be placed in a vertical position, as shown in the figure. 6. These surfaces are provided in two tubular profiles (18) of short length and rectangular cross-section. These two profiles are located on each side of the main frame.

In addition, as shown in Figure 1, the additional frame can include a pair of handles (19) located in profiles arranged on both sides of one of the faces of the extensible section (6), so as to allow manipulation additional rack manual with one user hand.

In Fig. 7 a sequence of the movement that the additional frame and the extensible section where the additional loading surface is arranged can be seen, so that the rotary movement that makes the extensible section can be seen as the frame moves linearly additional in the opposite direction to the trailer forward direction to increase the total payload area. To carry out the inverse operation, that is, to retract the extensible section, it is sufficient to perform the same operation in the opposite direction. 30

The details, shapes, dimensions and other accessory elements used in the manufacture of the cargo trailer of the invention may be conveniently replaced by others that do not depart from the scope defined by the claims set forth below. 35
